Tarek Momen Biography

Tarek Momen (born August 16, 1988 in Cairo, Egypt) is a professional squash player. He reached a career-high world ranking of World No. 3 in November 2015.

He started playing squash at the age of 5. He was inspired by his father, who was a professional squash player. Momen won his first professional tournament at the age of 15. Tarek has won 11 PSA World Tour titles, including 2 PSA World Series titles. His biggest victory came at the 2015 World Championship, where he defeated World No. 1 Mohamed El Shorbagy in the final.

He has represented Egypt at the World Team Squash Championships on four occasions, winning a silver medal in 2013 and a bronze medal in 2015. One of the things Momen is known for his quick movement and aggressive style of play. He uses a lot of deception in his shots, which often confuses his opponents. He has been sponsored by ASICS since 2013.
